The encounter between Kusama and the French Maison headed by Marc Jacobs dates back to 2006 in Tokyo when Kusama customized a bag – the Louis Vuitton Ellipse Bag – with her dots.

Timed with the opening of a retrospective on Kusama to be held at the New York’s Whitney Museum, on July 10th the capsule collection will be presented in Paris: the offer will vary from trench coats, necklaces and silk pyjamas while the collection will be available in 461 LV stores starting from the following day. ustomized with another motif dear to Kusama, a second part to the collection will be presented next October 2012.

It’s not the first time that Louis Vuitton joins forces with representatives from the art world: in the past the fashion label already collaborated with Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince.
